In Kiryandongo Refugee settlement; (50 people are to be given these items, 20 already got the items but 30 are yet to get since, the distribution has been temporarily halted as a result of a fight among the refugees in Kiryandongo Refugee settlement that let to 4 people losing their lives)
Target people are; the 50 persons that benefited from these items included; Child Headed Families, Elderly Persons, Persons with Disability and those with Chronic Illnesses.
Poles, Bundles of Bamboo, Jerrycans, rolls of strings, Boxes of Soap, 15 Face Masks and Hand Gloves (for the youth volunteering to distribute the items in the households)
In Kyaka II refugee settlement: Our colleague Faridah Procured Soaps to help in the handwashing campaigns to fight covid 19 in Kyaka II refugee settlement. A total of 120 families benefited from the generous contribution by Needslist. As in her words
“Our sincere thanks to Needslist in Canada who have generously donated soap to support handwashing campaign in Kyaka II refugee settlement. The DA Vision Group help in distributing this items to the needy during this difficult times of Covid-19 Lockdown in Uganda. I have no right words to express my happiness. May God bless you all. We distributed the items to 120 families in four places Kacongo, Dam II, Dam I and Kitonzi to elderly, orphans, Widows, Persons with Disabilities and Young mothers.”
In Kampala – Urban Refugees: Refugees in Kampala are not entitled to food ratios at the end of every month from the United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees and the partners as they are considered self-reliant and able to pend for their families. Over 60,000 refugees are under life threatening food insecurity now during the total lockdown in Kampala. Through the Needslist support, 50 Persons of concern and persons with special needs were given assorted food items (Eggs, Maize Flood, Sugar, Supreme Baking floor). These included persons with chronic illnesses, the disabled and the elderly.
